C'est Octobre - il fait bon

Oct 9, 04:53 AM

First thing up is the topic of beautiful weather. Each day is wonderful. Mild sunshine, incredible quality of light, just the right temperature.

Announcing the “French Connection”. Please join us Monday, October 19 from 4 to 7pm, for a Linen Show & Sale. We will feature table linens – tablecloths, runners, place mats, and napkins from Garnier Thiebaut, Couleur Nature, and Bodrum. We are offering a 10% discount for any linens purchased or ordered, and paid for that evening. Garnier Thiebaut is offering an additional 10% off for the purchase of any of their linens – and they have gifts to accompany those purchases. We will also feature Pre’ de Provence soaps – with a giveaway of mini soaps to attendees. We’ve got Bernard Callebaut chocolates on hand. Looks like French wine and Tea Forte’ need to be part of the picture. Drawings for French stuff are on the agenda. Join us. Bring a friend.

New stuff:
Pallina garden gloves “The Vegan”. You have to try these gloves on. 100% recycled fabric (washable); Liquicell pads on palm and thumb to prevent calluses and blisters; quick-drying terrycloth wristband; seamless fingertips; Kevlar thread; Velcro closure. Highly recommended by those of us who have worn them, used them, washed them, re-used them, re-washed them. Best glove to come along in a long time. Rumor has it that this is Spiderman’s grip secret.
Chocolate slugs (dark chocolate and milk chocolate)
Butterfly wing jewelry is back. Pendants and earrings.
Keri Elliott brought in some more garden aprons (great fabrics, split skirt, deep pockets). Susan Rodriguez brought in some more kitchen aprons (wonderful prints, pre-washed, lovely legend in the pockets).
Gorgeous glass plates and candles in vases from Fringe Studios. The patterns are delicate and colorful. Cool gift.
Seda France is an elegant new candle line for us. Terrific gift packaging in equally terrific scents: Japanese Quince, Elegant Gardenia, Malaysian Bamboo, Camellia Montagne, and French Tulip.
Win a Free Puzzle! We’re issuing the 5 minute challenge: any customer who solves the demonstration puzzle correctly in 5 minutes or less wins a free puzzle. These puzzles are 9 piece scramble squares in different themes – birds, bugs, hummingbirds, hot air balloons, dogs, cats, bears, cowboys & cowgirls, roosters, or salmon. This is truly fun – and frustrating. None of the staff has been able to do the puzzle in less than 14 minutes. Great $10 gift for torturing your kids or grandkids.
And last, but not least, Squirrel Underpants are finally here.

The Komeko Kimmidoll from Santa Barbara Design Studio is a new take on the centuries-old Japanese Kokeshi dolls. Each doll represents a gift-bearing sentiment in a contemporary update of the original dolls. They are beautifully fashioned and colored. Girls of all ages are buying these. They come in three sizes – keychain, mini doll or maxi doll.

Crabtree & Evelyn Fragrance of the Month is ‘Summerhill’. 10% discount on all Summerhill products for October.

That’s it for now. Thanks for your patronage and support. Enjoy the weekend – we are assured wonderful weather.
