Funny February

Feb 4, 07:58 AM

Greetings from the NorthEnd Neighborhood. We’re riding out an El Nino winter – drizzly, wet, cool. Mother Nature is teasing us with promises of spring. But inside the store spring has sprung.

The Orchids arrived today!! The shipment arrived this morning from Pahoa, Hawaii. Same prices as last year and the year before: $29 for 4 inch pots, $11 for 2 inch pots. Every plant has buds – some are blooming.
Roses are available at $1.75 a stem. We have red and pink roses right now. Also mixed bouquets, tulips and daffodils.

Lots of new spring arrivals for young garden aficionados: apron/trowel/glove sets, bug catcher boxes, jump ropes, and solar-powered dancing flowers.
New shipment of garden gloves from West County Gardener just in.
Kneeling pads in bright yellow. Kneeler/seats in bright yellow.
New greeting cards and new collection of flower pens in the Paper Garden.
Felt flower and heart pins from Margaret Berman.
Poo-pourri and Loo-pourri – bathroom spray scents.
Big hats in bright colors. New reader glasses from icu.
Chocolate hearts (dark chocolate from Gosanko in San Francisco).
Full shipment of Caldrea arrived. Lavender Pine, Basil Blue Sage, Ginger Pomelo, Sea Salt Neroli.
Pampeana Glass Art – glass panels and jewelry. Beautiful products of high quality art from Chile made following the principles of sustainability and fair trade.

Announcing the arrival of new hand care products from Crabtree & Evelyn. C&E has introduced a new fragrance to the hand care collection: Citron – lemon, honey, coriander. Two new hand cleansers and a new renewal treatment have also come in. The hand care products are available in Gardeners, LaSource, Rosewater and Lavender. Paraben-free formulas for peace of mind. Crafted with botanical ingredients. You need to come in and get some of this stuff on your hands. It’s wonderful.

FYI: This just in – March 15-21 is Act Happy Week. (Not making this up). Never mind that we have Valentine’s Day, Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday, Lincoln’s Birthday, President’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Spring Equinox, and Benito Juarez’s Birthday coming up – now there is another occasion to pump up the retail. So if any of you have suggestions for how to celebrate Act Happy Week, we’d be very happy to hear them.

Later kids.
